Centre Clears transfer of Justice Lisa Gill to Andhra Pradesh HC

The President of India has approved the transfer of Justice Lisa Gill to serve as the Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The information was shared by the Union Law Minister, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal through his X Account handle.  

Justice Lisa Gill is also recommended to serve as the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court. It follows the Collegium’s policy decision regarding transfer of Judges proposed to be appointed as Chief Justices of High Courts.  It involves transfer of the recommended High Court Chief Justice in advance to enable the proposed Chief Justice to become well conversant with the affairs of the said High Court during the intervening period.   

Justice Lisa Gill is presently serving as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. She was elevated to the Bench of Punjab and Haryana HC on 31st March, 2014.
